Yokohama Tire Corporation’s ‘Tire Tips’ Educational Video Series Returns

Hosted by Fred Koplin, Yokohama director of marketing communications, the new video in the Tires 101 segment is designed to help consumers understand the difference between various types of tires.

Yokohama Tire Corporation’s consumer-friendly educational video series – “Tire Tips” – is back with a new installment called “Tires 101.”  The video, posted at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y95pSj2LcH4, is the fourth video in the series that began in 2010.

Hosted by Fred Koplin, Yokohama director of marketing communications, the new video in the Tires 101 segment is designed to help consumers understand the difference between various types of tires. “When it comes to tires, consumers have heard the terms ‘summer,’ ‘winter’ and ‘all-season,’ but they may not necessarily know what the terms mean,” said Koplin. “In this video, we explain, in an easy-to-follow format, the differences between the three tires and the driving conditions they are best suited for.”

The one and a half minute video, shot at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, Washington during a recent Yokohama dealer ride and drive, features Yokohama’s S.drive (summer tire),  iceGuard (winter) and AVID ENVigor (all-season) to highlight Koplin’s points.

“The Tire Tips series was created to increase consumer awareness and educate the public about tires,” Koplin said. “In the coming months, new Tire Tips topics will include ‘maximizing fuel efficiency,’ ‘how to read the sidewall of a tire’ and ‘shopping for tires in a tough economy.’”
