NAPA Chassis recently held a four-day class August 27 – August 30 at its training center. Participants were provided with tips and techniques by NATEF certified instructors to identify and solve problems while diagnosing and repairing late-model chassis and suspension systems.

Many of the technicians commented on how effective the course was in refreshing previous ideas and how excellent the classroom portion was presented, allowing them to be more successful at their jobs. The clinic taught time-saving repair procedures, giving these techs the ability to be more proficient on newer vehicles. This will result in higher customer satisfaction as service related failures decrease.

Other course topics covered the reasons why four-wheel alignment is necessary on front-wheel-drive cars. Tire wear and alignment problems were discussed about light-duty trucks and SUVs. Also presented were electronic steering and suspension system diagnostic and repairing techniques.

All of the participants were awarded a plaque to proudly display in their shop. Companies that participate in NATEF instructor training and certification programs use a proactive approach to increase customer satisfaction through excellent service. The goal is to improve the image of service personnel as well as the aftermarket repair industry. Students who attended the training center completed an exam and demonstrated their ability in the training laboratory.
