Motorists Declare Energy Independence With Universal Lubricants’ ‘Great American Oil Change For Good’ Challenge

As the July 4th holiday approaches, Americans can take a stand against foreign oil and declare their personal energy independence this summer by participating in the national "Great American Oil Change for Good!" Facebook sweepstakes sponsored by Universal Lubricants.

As the July 4th holiday approaches, Americans can take a stand against foreign oil and declare their personal energy independence this summer by participating in the national “Great American Oil Change for Good!” Facebook sweepstakes sponsored by Universal Lubricants, manufacturer and distributor of the high performance Eco Ultra line of sustainable motor oils, engine oils, and transmission fluids.

By providing information and offering compelling high-tech, eco-responsible prize incentives on its Eco Ultra Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ecoultraoil, the company is educating and encouraging consumers to choose environmentally friendly motor oil. Eco Ultra is made from crystal clear, re-refined base oil that’s purified and blended with high performance additives to protect vehicles and the environment.

“By choosing sustainable motor oil like Eco Ultra, every one of our Facebook fans can help preserve the environment and lessen America’s dependence on these foreign oil providers, which is why we named our contest the GreatAmerican Oil Change for Good,” said Jan Horsfall, Universal Lubricants’ chief marketing officer. “We want to continue to raise public awareness of the role sustainable motor oil has in protecting the environment, and how our closed loop process turns used motor oil into a valuable resource that can be used over and over again.”

Universal Lubricants’ infinitely repeatable closed loop cycle puts the company at the forefront of today’s zero waste movement by turning a previously non-renewable resource, like used motor oil, into a renewable one through its re-refining process.

Independent studies show that oils produced from re-refined base stock and spiked with high performance additives reduce engine wear, which leads to fewer oil changes, reduced oil consumption and better gas mileage. Universal Lubricants estimates that if all 308 million Americans got an Eco Ultra oil change, we could prevent 616 million barrels of crude oil from being imported.

“Environmentally conscious Eco Ultra Facebook fans can advance the cause by recycling their used motor oil and choosing to use an environmentally friendly alternative,” said Horsfall. “We want people to pass the message on to their friends through social media and turn it into a national movement. The strong initial response shows that’s happening.”

Fans can submit one entry person, per day through July 1, 2013. Sweepstakes Grand Prizes include 16GB Wi-Fi iPads with Retina Display, Jabra Revo wireless headphones with iPod Nanos or 12 weeks of Organic Landscaping. There also are a  number of other environmentally sound awards for First, Second and Third Place winners and fans can earn a bonus for Tweeting the Eco Ultra news.
