Centerforce Announces New Dual Friction Clutch Kit For The JK Jeep Wrangler

Designed for the 2007-'11 3.8L V6-equipped Jeep Wrangler JK, this new Dual Friction clutch kit can hold up to 540 foot-pounds of torque while delivering a light pedal feel.

Centerforce, manufacturer of performance clutches for classic and late model cars and trucks, has released its new Dual Friction Clutch Kit for the 3.8L V6-equipped 2007-’11 Jeep Wrangler. This new clutch kit gives Jeep JK owners a complete clutch and flywheel package that delivers increased torque capacity and improved low-speed crawl capability thanks to its high-inertia flywheel.

The JK-series Jeep Wrangler stands as one of the most popular off-road enthusiast platforms on the market, according to Centerforce, offering rugged capability from the factory while readily accepting a wide variety of aftermarket performance upgrades for its 3.8L Chrysler EGH V6 engine. Centerforce’s Dual Friction Clutch Kit enhances these attributes, offering improved clamp load in both highway and off-road applications while offering a torque holding capacity able to handle even heavily modified and supercharged engines.

Manufactured with segmented organic facings on both sides of the disc for increased holding capacity, the Jeep JK Dual Friction clutch kit also uses Centerforce’s patented Centrifugal Weight System to hold up to 540 foot-pounds of torque. In addition, Centerforce’s patented ball bearing pressure plate helps to maintain a light pedal feel for easy use despite its uprated capacity. The included 50-pound, 146-tooth high-inertia billet steel flywheel helps to maintain steady engine RPM while crawling in low gear over uneven terrain as well as offset the fuel economy loss of large diameter tires during highway cruising, the company adds. The OE flywheel weighs 33-pounds, while the Centerforce unit weighs 50-pounds, an increase in inertia of 17-pounds, which is highly beneficial in off-road situations.

This new Dual Friction Clutch Kit (Part No. KDF148174) fits 2007-‘11 Jeep Wranglers equipped with the 3.8L V6 with a 1-1/8-inch, 10 spline input shaft. This precision balanced clutch system was developed as an easy-to-install replacement able to complement both light- and heavy-duty off-road setups while maintaining highway usability.

Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch kits come pre-assembled and include the pressure plate, clutch disc, flywheel, pilot bearing, alignment tool and ARP fasteners. For more information about the Dual Friction Clutch Kit or any other products, visit centerforce.com.
