The Timken Company just added torque specifications to its automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket online catalog site, www.timkeninfo.com. The addition of torque specs to the site gives professional technicians and other installers a one-stop location for identifying the correct Timken part number and torque specifications based on a vehicle’s year, make and model.

Torque specifications become viewable when a customer looks up a wheel application, according to Tom Tecklenburg, director of automotive aftermarket for The Timken Company.

"It’s our goal to give installers everything they need to do the job right the first time,” said Tecklenburg. “This is just another next step in delivering on that objective. We understand the risks of an improperly installed wheel bearing, so continuing to deliver the technical know-how along with a quality product enhances our customer’s experience with our brand.”

By consolidating this information, Timken takes another step in simplifying the installation process. Additionally, Timken differentiates itself by including the required foot-pound torque needed not just for axle nuts, but also for flange bolts and wheel studs.
