Young Auto Care Network Group To Host Networking Program During AAPEX

The Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG), a program of the Auto Care Association, is hosting the Young Professionals Program during the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), Wednesday, Nov. 5 at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. Professionals in the auto care industry under the age of 40 are encouraged to attend to learn key tools needed to bring real results to networking.

Networking Expert Allison Graham, ElevateBiz, will present “Networking for Your Future,” from 3:45-4:45 p.m. in The Venetian Hotel. Immediately afterward, attendees are invited to practice their networking skills at the YANG-sponsored happy hour, 5-6 p.m., at the V Bar.

“YANGsters are the folks who will be running your organization 20 years from now,” said Kathleen Schmatz, Auto Care Association president and CEO. “YANG gives young auto care professionals the opportunity to start to prepare for the future and build their own network of peers, with whom they will move up the career ladder.”

“Getting advice or running an idea past a fellow YANG member is different than asking a boss or seasoned coworker,” said Alena Van Cleave, YANG advisory council member, A & Jay Automotive Warehouse. “YANG allows you to take your barrier down.”

In addition to the Young Professionals Program, members of YANG will be participating in Recruiting and Retaining Day, a special part of the AAPEXedu Conference. YANG members will be featured on the panel discussion, “Developing Millennial Leaders in the Auto Care Industry” from 4-5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3 at The Venetian Hotel.

Corporate supporters of YANG include MacKenzie Warehouse, Tenneco and Automotive Distribution Network.

All YANG events at AAPEX are free and open to any industry professional under 40.

All professionals in the auto care industry under the age of 40 are eligible to join YANG. Membership is free and open to Auto Care Association members and non-members under the age of 40. For more information, visit www.autocare.org/yang.
