Venturini Motorsports Receives Ultimate Compressor Makeover From Atlas Copco Compressors

Venturini Motorsports, a world-class motorsports facility located in Concord, NC, has won Atlas Copco Compressors' Ultimate Compressor Makeover competition. The facility received a new Atlas Copco compressed air system as the grand prize.

Venturini Motorsports, a world-class motorsports facility located in Concord, NC, has won Atlas Copco Compressors’ Ultimate Compressor Makeover competition. The facility received a new Atlas Copco compressed air system as the grand prize.

Atlas Copco launched the competition to encourage facilities with outdated equipment to enter to win a new compressed air system with the latest technology. A recent poll conducted by Atlas Copco Compressors revealed that the majority of plants surveyed had not made any changes to their compressed air system in the past two years.

“Compressors can last a lifetime and the common tendency is to follow the old saying, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,’” said Robert Eshelman, vice president, Industrial Air Division, Atlas Copco Compressors. “Yet, the technological innovations Atlas Copco has made in the past 24 months alone means many facilities can retire some of their older, workhorse machines, and replace those machines with a new system that will result in greater efficiency, better air quality and significant cost savings.”

Venturini Motorsports received a full makeover of their compressed air system, complete with new Airnet piping that reduces pressure drops and minimizes the chances of oxidation, DD and PD coalescing filters that prevent particulates and oil from contaminating the air, an OSC oil and water separator to help protect the environment, and the energy efficient, compact and quiet GX 11 full-feature air compressor.

“For the longest time now, we’ve been struggling with our air compressor; our running joke is that we have air in our water lines,” said Kevin Caldwell, crew chief, Venturini Motorsports. “The air supply system is very important in our industry and for us as a company, and we are looking forward to using the new system.”
