A helmet worn by Elliot Sadler when he took the wheel of the No. 9 Dodge during the Nov. 3, 2007 NASCAR Nationwide (formerly Busch) Series race was auctioned off on Nov. 15 for a winning bid of $1,875.

Proceeds will go directly to support Charity Cars Inc. and the 2007 Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Charity Cars Campaign. The Ebay auction opened Nov. 5. The helmet was personally autographed by Gillett Evernham Motorsports team mates Elliott Sadler, Kasey Kahne and Scott Riggs during the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper hospitality event at the Texas Motor Speedway after the race.

“Our hospitality tent went wild when Elliott signed the helmet, but the noise level grew even more when he asked his fellow teammates to sign it as well stating that it would bring in more money,” said Steve Marks, senior vice president, advertising/marketing for Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper. “He was right.”

Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper last year joined forces with The Original 1-800-Charity Cars to seek, secure, and refurbish vehicles to be presented to more than 500 qualified recipients at grand award ceremonies to be held throughout 2007.
