Premium synthetic lubricant manufacturer, Royal Purple, has announced the final installment in the 2013 season of its Outperformer mini-documentary series, featuring award-winning Hollywood stuntman Lance Gilbert.
The mini-documentary offers a rare glimpse into the storied life of Gilbert and how he became one of the top stuntmen in film and television. For 25 years, he has taken on different roles to transform the typewritten mayhem of a script into memorable action on-screen. As a stunt coordinator, he works behind the scenes to make sure every fight scene, car crash or exploding helicopter is executed with precision.
Gilbert also logs time in front of the camera as a stunt performer and stunt double, taking on everything from motorcycle jumps to high-speed car chases. With more than 100 film and TV stunt credits, Gilbert’s work includes: "Spider-Man 3," "Titanic" and "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines." In 2003, he earned the honor of Best Stunt Coordination – Feature Film at the Taurus World Stunt Awards for his work on action film "xXx."
Gilbert’s most recent film credit includes work for DreamWorks Pictures’ "Need for Speed." As stunt coordinator for the film, Gilbert was responsible for choreographing the thrilling wheel-to-wheel action that brings to life the most successful racing video game franchise ever. "Need for Speed" releases in U.S. theaters on March 14, 2014.
A passion for stunts has been in the Gilbert family for generations. His father and grandfather made their mark as stuntmen decades ago, long before the age of modern safety codes and wirework. Today, Gilbert and his brothers carry on the tradition with careers as stunt professionals.

Gilbert is the third Outperformer of the 2013 season, presented by Royal Purple. He joins NASCAR and NHRA racer Nicole Lyons and X Games Adaptive Motocross Gold Medalist Mike Schultz as the featured Outperformers of 2013.
