KYB America LLC, a supplier of OE and aftermarket shocks and struts, views ride control upgrades as viable opportunities for creating extra shock sales and profits from the installation of heavy-duty and performance shocks.

According to Aaron Shaffer, marketing manager, “Shops need to be aware of the many possibilities for upgrading ride control, such as different driving preferences, towing, hauling, plowing, top heavy vehicles, overloaded commercial vehicles and performance vehicles. This category of service occurs even with newer or low mileage vehicles and can add a tidy bonus to the shop’s overall income.”

Shaffer asks shop owners to take a look at the vehicles currently in their bays and assess the possibilities. Chances are that as many as 20% are potential candidates for a ride control upgrade.

KYB offers a full range of replacement shocks and struts for domestic and import vehicles, and is an aftermarket leader in ride control upgrades with specific products for trucks, SUVs, vans and sports cars.

KYB MonoMax – With a 3mm thickness and a 46mm working cylinder, MonoMax has earned its reputation as the most durable truck shock available. The MonoMax’s high-pressure monotube design works to reduce nosedive under braking and maximizes control against body roll when cornering. The MonoMax has a wide array of applications for domestic and import lifted and lowered light trucks, SUVs and vans.

KYB AGX – This adjustable shock allows quick-change adjustments of the damping rates to match specific driving condition needs. The manually adjustable damping rates allow the motorist to adjust both the compression and rebound rates. The adjustments can even be made without ever removing the units or the tires from the vehicle.
