MEDINA, Ohio – In a full Medina service garage of cars and boats in need of repair, owner Andy Homolak discusses how his crews spent the better part of this last week working on a SUV that reportedly had been damaged by someone placing sugar in the gas tank sometime during the first week in June.
At Homolak’s Automotive Repair and Technical Service & Marine garage on West Liberty Street, the crew were just finishing up the final safety issues on Lisa Jones’ Ford Explorer. H.A.R.T.S. has been in the Homolak family for 99 years. Homolak is the current ace mechanic and family owner.
A Marine who served in the 1990s, Homolak runs his shop with his past’s simple values of honor, integrity and valor.
After one of his mechanics, Scott Werner, had seen Lisa Jones’ WEWS story on his cellphone, Homolak was instantly onboard with finding a way to help the family out.
"We wanted to just bring it in and do something nice for somebody. Pay it forward and hopefully it would come back," said Homolak.
