Mopar Kicks Off 2010 ‘Top Eliminator’ Program at Mopars at the Strip

The event, billed as the "Wildest Mopar Party in the West," features sanctioned drag racing, a car show and other activities throughout the weekend in and around The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The first of six members of the 2010 Mopar “Top Eliminator” class will be selected from among hundreds of show vehicles during the Mopars at the Strip event in Las Vegas, NV, March 26–28.

The event, billed as the “Wildest Mopar Party in the West,” features sanctioned drag racing, a car show and other activities throughout the weekend in and around The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Mopar will also feature its Direct Connection display rig, a Mopar Dodge Challenger Test Lab vehicle and meet-and-greet opportunities with the legendary Ramchargers crew during the event.

Ramchargers made history in the 1960s as a factory-backed race team made up of Chrysler engineers that took on all comers at both sanctioned race events and match races across the country. Their many racing innovations, including the introduction of what became the “Funny Car,” continued into the 1970s.

The Mopar “Top Eliminator” program, now in its fourth year, recognizes the most skilled Mopar enthusiasts and their restyled or customized Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram vehicles. Six Mopar “Top Eliminator” winners will be selected, with additional winners chosen at the Midwest Mopars in Farmington, MN; the All-Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, PA; and the Mopar Nationals in Columbus, OH. A “Tuner” category, celebrating the new era of modern muscle, will be added this year with the winner being chosen from enthusiast-builder submissions at http://www.mopar.com, along with a Mopar “Dealer Selection” vehicle which will be selected by a panel of Mopar representatives.

Winning vehicles will be displayed in the Mopar Alley at the 2010 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas in November.
