KYB Corp. has announced it will be the OE supplier for the new Lexus GS luxury sport sedan.

“Being selected by Lexus once again to develop and supply highly advanced monotube shocks is a great credit to the quality, technology and performance of KYB products,” said KYB America Senior Vice President Mike Howarth.

KYB is supplying Lexus with three different and highly advanced types of monotube shock absorbers, depending on vehicle model. These include a high-pressure monotube gas shock absorber, an electronically adjustable monotube shock absorber for vehicles equipped with coil springs and a separate electronically adjustable monotube gas shock absorber for models equipped with air springs.

The electronic shocks are controlled by the Lexus Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system which integrates braking, steering, Vehicle Traction Control (VTC) and Traction Control (TRAC) systems to simultaneously control ride and handling.
