It was a very memorable day for five Federated Auto Parts Car Care Center members as they spent the day dirt track racing with NASCAR driver and dirt track legend Ken Schrader at Schrader’s I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO, on September 8. The “rookie” drivers survived their adventure without a scratch, but with some great memories of a lifetime.

“What a great group of guys we had racing,” said Schrader. “Every one of those Federated guys was just thrilled to be there and could not have been more appreciative of the opportunity to race. I taught them a few tricks of the trade, but not enough for them to beat me. All in all, it was some of the most fun I have ever had at the racetrack.”

The lucky “racers” were chosen as winners in the first Federated “Get Dirty with Kenny” promotion. In addition, the winners were accompanied on the trip by their respective Federated member representative. The five Federated Car Care Center winners were:

• Jason Shaeffer of Hatts Auto Repair, Mt. Joy, PA.
• Darrell Burnette of B&S Automotive Service, Willis, VA.
• J.C. Lewis of JC Auto Repair, Versailles, KY.
• Kyle Rohleder of Wakeeney Tire, Wakeeney, KS.
• Robert McCommon Jr. of The Oil Connection, Fairfield, CA.

“What a great day of racing and fun it was for these guys,” said J.R. Bishop, director of member services and event marketing for Federated Auto Parts. “This contest generated a lot of enthusiasm among our members and we can’t thank Kenny enough for letting us have use of his track. Everyone who raced had one of the best days of their lives.”

To have been eligible to win a chance to “Get Dirty with Kenny,” a shop must have been fully enrolled as a Federated Car Care Center member in good standing as of July 15, 2008. The Federated Car Care Center program is one of the fastest growing, complete support programs for some of the nation’s finest automotive service providers. To become a Federated Car Care Center member or for more information, contact the local Federated Auto Parts distributor.
