GearWrench Introduces X-Core Pinless Universal Impact Sockets

The exclusive X-Core Pinless four-lug ball-and-socket design provides increased durability, speed and strength, allowing technicians to quickly remove stubborn fasteners, even in the most cramped spaces, said the company.

GearWrench, announced its new X-Core Pinless Universal Impact Sockets. The pinless socket design offers exceptional strength, durability and value.

The exclusive X-Core Pinless four‑lug ball‑and‑socket design provides increased durability, speed and strength, allowing automotive technicians and industrial mechanics to quickly remove stubborn fasteners, even in the most cramped spaces, said the company. The design provides smoother operation for longer life and allows a 30-degree off-center operating angle for superior access in tight spots.

“X-Core Pinless sockets are top performing impact sockets,” said James Stewart, senior product manager for GearWrench.  “The durability and life of these sockets is exceptional and the greater operating angle will get end users out of trouble time and time again.”

The new X-Core Pinless Universal Impact Sockets all feature:

  • Chrome molybdenum construction
  • Hard stamped size markings
  • Corrosion resistant black-oxide coating
  • Turned up socket base for easy grip when changing
  • Off Corner Load anti-fastener rounding technology

The four‑lug ball‑and‑socket design’s 360° movement gives technicians a greater range of motion and the socket wall dimensions are optimized to provide strength while retaining access to restricted fasteners. Like all GearWrench sockets, X-Core Pinless Universal Impact Sockets incorporate the brand’s Off Corner Load anti-fastener rounding technology, whereby the socket engages the flats of the fastener, reducing corner rounding and increasing engagement with worn fasteners.  Sizes are hard-stamped into the side wall of every socket for easy identification that will stand up to years of service and stay legible for the life of the tool.  X-Core Pinless Universal Impact Socket Sets come packed on a plastic socket rail.

Individual 3/8″ Drive X-Core Pinless Universal Impact Sockets (Metric 8mm – 24mm and SAE 3/8″ – 3/4″) are available now, as are the following 3/8″ drive sets:

Cat. No. 84974 – 7-Piece SAE 5/16″ – 3/4″
