TechShop – Equipment, Tools & Supplies magazine has announced the winners of its 2012 Top 5 Tools Award. Only seven manufacturers were awarded this year’s honor. They are:

Ingersoll Rand*
LAUNCH Tech USA
Matco Tools*
OTC*
Power Probe*
Snap-on*
Streamlight

*These companies have won a Top 5 Tool award every year since 2005.

Award winners are determined based on the number of times a company or product is mentioned by shop owners and technicians in the January 2012 through December 2012 issues of TechShop in the Top 5 Favorite Tools section.

Because the winners of the Top 5 Tools Award are picked by the readers of TechShop magazine, it is the only true equipment and tool award chosen by the ultimate customer — the end-user technician or shop owner. It is real recognition of a company’s exceptional brand strength, technological leadership and product innovation by the people who matter most — their customers.

“Since 2005, the Top 5 Tool Award continues to be selected by our loyal readers, ” said Sean Donohue, associate publisher of TechShop. “Our readers are immersed in the auto repair market and their feedback fuels the new, innovative tools that impact the market daily.”

The winning companies will be presented a Top 5 Tool Award star trophy, and were announced in the January issue of TechShop to our 100,000+ repair shop recipients and tool and equipment distributors.
