The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) season concluded last month in Pomona, CA, at the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. Supporting Chicago Pneumatic racers faired pretty well on the 2007 season, with one of them taking home a world championship.

Action in the Pro Stock class this season was some of the toughest and closest in the history of the sport. However, five CP supporting drivers took the stage at the banquet in downtown Los Angeles to receive their accolades on their respective seasons.

“The Professor” Warren Johnson finished the season in eighth place, while his son, Kurt, drove to a sixth place finish, picking up one win in Phoenix in February.

2006 Pro Stock Champion Jason Line struggled a little bit this season picking up only one win in Houston in April, finishing fifth.

Allen Johnson made the cut to four in the Chase for the Championship with one win in Denver in July, finishing fourth in points.

Three-time Pro Stock Champion Greg Anderson stayed in the hunt for the championship right until the first round at Pomona when he lost to his competitor on a holeshot. Anderson still should be proud of his year, picking up eight wins, including the season-opener at Pomona in February, Gainesville in March, Las Vegas and Atlanta in April, Topeka and Englishtown in June, Sonoma in July and Las Vegas again in late October.

Funny Car driver Tony Pedregon captured his second world championship in his class, but this is his first as a team owner/driver. En route to his championship, Pedregon picked up four wins along the way at Phoenix in February, Reading in August, Dallas in September and at the second Las Vegas race in late October.

His brother and teammate, Cruz, finished 12th on the season.

Chicago Pneumatic would like to congratulate Tony Pedregon and his Q Racing championship team on a tremendous job well done this season!
