Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper help technicians obtain the tools of their trade so they can better assist their customers and the certified service centers where they work. Since its inception six years ago the AutoValue/Bumper to Bumper Tool Scholarship program has awarded almost $16,000 to qualified technicians.

During 2011, a $500 and $250 award is given each quarter. To apply for an award, the technician must complete an online entry with a short essay on how they could improve their business against their competition if they had a specific tool. A panel of judges reviews the applications and determines the winners based on which tool, if purchased, would benefit the employee and his or her service center team the most.

The recipients for the third quarter 2011 are:

$500 – John Kirk, JFK Auto Service (Eastern Warehouse)

$250 – Brant McEachern, Auto Electric Service (Auto Electric Service LTD)

“This scholarship will certainly help me succeed in my automotive career as a technician. I’ll be able to purchase some of the tools I need to perform more jobs in our shop,” said Brant McEachern.
