NUCAP Industries Approves Elig Industrial Company as NRS Licensee

The deal allows Elig Industrial Company to process NUCAP's NRS mechanical friction attachment technology on their range of self-manufactured brake backing plates for automotive, motorcycle, truck, bus, industrial and railway friction products.

NUCAP Industries announced recently that it has approved its second NRS licensee this year. The deal allows Elig Industrial Company to process NUCAP’s NRS mechanical friction attachment technology on their range of self-manufactured brake backing plates for automotive, motorcycle, truck, bus, industrial and railway friction products.

Elig’s primary focus for the NRS technology is to ensure its products offer a high level of bond strength between the friction material and the brake backing plate. Elig will also use the introduction of the NRS product to remove hazardous adhesives from its production lines to improve the quality of the work place and reduce its environmental impact.

"It is exciting to find a partner that appreciates the positive impact that NRS can have on the final product and manufacturing process. Elig’s team has a desire for improved friction retention and reduced environmental impact and that makes them a welcome addition to the NRS family", said Ray Arbesman, chairman and CEO of NUCAP Industries.

Axle Torque Procedures

Guessing the correct torque setting is a bad idea.

The physics of all threaded fasteners are the same. As the bolt and nut are turned, the spiral threads convert rotational force into a linear force that creates clamping loads. When a threaded fastener is tightened, it stretches. Since metal is elastic, even greater clamping loads are generated. The threads also generate friction that keeps the assembly together. This especially applies to wheel bearings and axle nuts.
