The Timken Company has received the 2011 Vendor of the Year award from the National Pronto Association, one of the country’s largest auto parts buying groups. Timken supplies Pronto with a full line of automotive aftermarket products, including Timken hub units, bearings, grease and seals.

“It is a great honor to be recognized by the National Pronto members with the Vendor of the Year award, particularly when we are compared to such a strong supplier peer group.  This award validates the efforts that Timken has made to continuously increase the value proposition of our services as the premium brand in the category,” said Thomas W. Tecklenburg, director of the automotive aftermarket for Timken.

The award recognizes Timken for high levels of performance in multiple areas including marketing, sales force, technology, staffing, and supplying products that meet or exceed expectations. The winning supplier was selected based on Pronto member nominations and voting.

“We are happy to present this award to Timken for their performance in 2011,” said Michael Mohler, vice president of the National Pronto Association. “The quality products and value-added services Timken provides have earned the respect of our membership. Our members know they can trust Timken to do things the right way. Their ability to offer the total package to our Pronto members earned them this award.”

The award was presented to Timken at the National Pronto Association fall meeting, held September 20-22.

“It is always special to be honored by your customers. Being chosen by Pronto is particularly satisfying because it means we not only met the expectations of the Association but their members as well,” said Mike Peace, Timken’s national sales manager of the automotive aftermarket.  “Being recognized by their member base for excelling in multiple areas really validates the hard work that our team puts in. We thank Pronto for this special recognition, and we plan to continue improving our program and strengthening the Pronto -Timken relationship.
