OTC Unveils New Inventors Website for ‘Bright Tool Ideas’

New website is designed to facilitate communication between tool inventors and OTC engineers to stimulate innovative ideas and develop new tools for the automotive industry.

OTC, an SPX brand, is pleased to announce the launch of its new Inventors website developed to attract tool inventors and provide a means to submit new tool inventions for review. The new website at www.otctools.com/inventionsubmission.php will simplify communication between automotive tool inventors and OTC engineers to stimulate innovative ideas and develop new tools for the automotive industry.

"At SPX, we have a strategic initiative to develop our ‘Bright Tool Ideas’ resources," said Davin Alan, product manager of marketing communications at SPX Service Solutions. "In the case of OTC, this initiative is about continuing to develop the brand’s strong inventor community base and accessing outside resources to rapidly bring ideas to market. Some of our best tool innovation ideas come from inventors and they could earn cash awards or royalties for their inventions and ideas."

The new Inventors website will provide an expanded resource where inventors can go to offer solutions to repair challenges. Additionally, the website will give technicians a direct link to OTC where they can provide open feedback on solutions to tool and equipment problems they may be experiencing; an idea for a tool that doesn’t exist; or a way to improve an existing tool.

"We’re looking for the best new tool ideas for 2011," said Alan. "If you have a bright tool idea, we think it deserves to shine. Share your ideas with OTC and you may be selected to become part of our product line."

For additional information and to request an idea disclosure packet, contact OTC at (800) 533-6127 or go to http://www.otctools.com/inventionsubmission.php.
