OTC Teams Up with Best Buy to Offer Repair Shops Complete Solution for WiFi Connectivity

For a limited time, free in-shop WiFi installation with the purchase of a Pegisys Diagnostic System.

OTC, an SPX brand, announces the launch of a new service — PegisysCONNECT Wireless Solutions. Built on the capabilities of the revolutionary Pegisys wireless platform introduced in 2008, this new service aims to help Pegisys users explore the potential of wireless diagnostics and maximize productivity with their diagnostic system.

"The value of Wi-Fi is very evident in the automotive aftermarket, where statistics show that 88% of technicians are using the Internet in the shop for the conduct of daily business," said Ed Lipscomb, senior product manager, Diagnostic Systems. "OTC has teamed up with Best Buy for Business to provide a wireless hardware and installation solution for the repair shop. This service includes a wireless router, on-site installation — including firewall — and assistance in configuring a shop’s diagnostic handset/VCI to the wireless network to create a secure, reliable wireless network within the shop’s service area."

The PegisysCONNECT Wireless Solution includes:
• The wireless router and on-site installation by a Best Buy for Business Team member.
• Turn-key installation — a simple call to OTC can start the installation process.
• Safe, secure firewall encryption protected network.
• Installation is provided locally through one of more than 700 Best Buy locations throughout the United States.
