Last September, Bosch brought drifting to the streets of Los Angeles with its Performance Art event. Expanding upon this successful event, Bosch will award one lucky random winner with a 2010 Mustang GT as the Grand Prize in the new ‘Drift Into A Mustang’ Sweepstakes. A promotional video featuring world champion drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. is posted on www.boschperformanceart.com along with a link to the contest entry page.
The sweepstakes runs from March 17 to June 30, and is open to residents of the U.S. and District of Columbia who hold a valid U.S drivers license and are at least 18 years of age at time of entry. For complete rules visit www.boschdriftintoamustang.com/rules.php.
"The exciting ‘Drift Into a Mustang’ Sweepstakes and our partnership with Vaughn Gittin Jr. help underscore the superior performance and reliability of Bosch parts for all vehicle makes and models in all kinds of driving conditions," said Pam Krebs, Bosch’s director of advertising and sales promotion. "Vaughn’s Ford Mustang runs Bosch Platinum Ir Fusion multi-electrode spark plugs, Bosch performance fuel injectors and the Bosch ALRACE1 lightweight motorsports alternator."
"Drifting cars take a real pounding, and engines are subject to incredible stress while they often run at extremely high RPM. Accelerating and decelerating are constant, and the spark plugs and fuel injectors not only need to perform under this intense pressure, they must hold up and continue to deliver. Bosch spark plugs and fuel injectors are engineered to give the driver clean, efficient performance in even the most severe driving conditions," she said.
In addition to being a two-time D1 Grand Prix World Champion, Gittin is an accomplished artist. His "Abstract on Asphalt", created on a downtown Los Angeles intersection last September, is part of a campaign for Bosch Spark Plugs. The Performance Art campaign, which includes consumer promotions, a "Making of Performance Art" video and the full-length "Performance Art" video, plus other drifting-related content, is showcased at the Bosch micro site www.boschperformanceart.com.
Bosch views participation and association with a champion such as Vaughn Gittin, Jr. as "the next step in motorsports, especially with younger motorists and enthusiasts who seek the best components for their motorsports vehicles as well as their everyday cars. Bosch’s proven performance spark plugs, injectors and other components are just right for these young and enthusiastic consumers." Krebs noted.
