The fall automotive maintenance season officially begins September 1 at thousands of North American service locations thanks to the Monroe “Count Shockula” consumer rebate promotion from Tenneco Automotive. The "Count Shockula" promotion will reward vehicle owners with a cash-back rebate on one premium replacement* Monroe shock or strut with the purchase of three qualifying units in September or October.

Monroe developed "Count Shockula" to remind consumers that they can help protect their driving safety by having shocks, struts and other safety-critical undercar components inspected as part of their fall maintenance regimen. Monroe recommends replacing shocks and struts at 50,000 miles for improved ride and handling. For many popular-selling vehicles, replacing ride control products that have been driven for 50,000 miles or more can enhance vehicle handling characteristics and comfort. (Actual mileage may vary depending on driver ability, vehicle type, and type of driving and road conditions.)

"’Count Shockula’ is a fun and effective way to spread the word that shocks and struts can help provide safe steering, stopping and stability characteristics, and that these components should be replaced on a scheduled basis," said Richard Alameddine, vice president of marketing, North American Aftermarket, Tenneco Automotive. "Monroe dealers across North America are ready to help consumers restore the ‘new-car’ ride and handling they prefer and get a cash-back rebate in the process."

Consumers purchasing three premium Sensa-Trac or Monroe Reflex shocks or struts or Monroe Gas-Magnum shock absorbers from a participating dealer during the promotion will qualify for a mail-in rebate equal to the value of the fourth unit* for the same vehicle. The promotion also covers the Monroe brand’s new Reflex Monotube shock absorber for light trucks and sport-utility vehicles.

Monroe backs its entire line of shocks and struts with the exclusive money-back "Safe & Sound Guarantee," which allows vehicle owners to return their premium Sensa-Trac, Monroe Reflex or Gas-Magnum shocks and struts within 90 days for a complete refund plus up to $50 labor per axle if they are not completely satisfied. (Certain restrictions apply; visit www.monroe.com for details.)

*The mail-in rebate is only applicable for the lowest-cost unit of the complete four Monroe Sensa-Trac, Reflex, Reflex Monotube or Gas-Magnum purchase.
