His name instantly sparks recognition in the racing world. Premier Crew Chief Tommy Baldwin, winner of the Daytona 500 and 2007 Crew Chief for Bill Davis Racing, has been signed by Cyclo Industries, a leading manufacturer of automotive aftermarket products, as spokesperson for the company’s newly licensed Goodyear tire appearance products, it was announced recently by Lawrence Pesin, chairman.

“Tommy was the perfect choice to represent our new Goodyear Racing products,” Pesin commented. “As a famous crew chief, with an impressive record of victories, he brings to our new product launch the background and experience of an authority well-versed in the importance of car maintenance, including appearance.”

Baldwin, a 40-year-old native of Bellport, New York, who first served as a crew chief for his late father renowned race car driver Tommy Baldwin, Sr. is also the proud owner of a ‘69 GTO, which he keeps in mint condition. “My personal car just has to look perfect,” he said, “right on down to the tires” — a comment he makes in the company’s new television commercial for Wet Tire Shine, one of the three new Goodyear Racing tire products to be launched nationally by Cyclo.

“Goodyear Racing Wet Tire Shine has an ingredient called Siloxane,” he added, “and you can see the difference. It makes tires look great.” The new product line up also includes Goodyear Racing Foaming Tire Shine and Wheel Cleaner. Wet Tire Shine will be supported with major media advertising on cable television, and web advertising with Tommy Baldwin as spokesperson.

For Cyclo Industries, the licensing agreement with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company represents a major opportunity to expand its consumer product lines. To date, Cyclo is best known for its roster of high-quality car care maintenance products that are targeted and marketed to automotive professionals.

“This is an important step in our company growth,” noted Pesin, “an opportunity to expand in this fast growing segment of the automotive aftermarket.” Pesin points to the booming number of car enthusiasts, who, like Tommy, want to keep their old and new cars in top condition. “It’s a market for all ages,” he added, “with a median household income of $58,000. We’re planning a powerful marketing and advertising program to speed category growth.”

“I’m really excited to be associated with the Goodyear name,” added Baldwin. “The company has a terrific worldwide reputation for quality products unquestioned among both consumers and professionals. The new Goodyear Racing Tire appearance products by Cyclo carry on this tradition of excellence.”

Baldwin, who stars in the Goodyear Racing television commercials is thrilled the way they worked out. “It actually shows the excitement of the race — speeding cars, fierce competition, my pit crew leaping onto the track to change tires in just 13 seconds. It’s the real thing and people are going to love it.”

Baldwin also tells how enthusiastic he is about the product. “Goodyear Racing Wet Tire Shine with Siloxane is so effective,” he said, “it makes the tire shine and glow. It’s better and you can really see the difference.”
