When any BMW model is driven over road hazards such as potholes or bumps at an excessive speed, wheel rims may become damaged. Soon after, a rattling noise may be heard from the front or rear axle. Suspension components may become loose or damaged.

Service Procedure:
1. Inspect and replace the damaged wheel rims.
2. Check for any damage on the front and rear axle suspension components.
3. Check the torque of the wishbone/control arm locking nuts on both front and rear axles. Refer to the appropriate repair instructions for the torque values.
4. Replace any damaged parts.
5. Perform a wheel alignment as necessary.
