NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.), Inc. introduces the NTK Oxygen Sensor’s Salvage Sensor Recovery Program (NTK SSRP) to all professional technicians. This program offers professional technicians an option for disposing of replaced sensors regardless of brand.

NGK developed the NTK SSRP to encourage responsible practices in the automotive aftermarket by promoting the recovery of replaced oxygen sensors. The NTK SSRP program will reward technicians who recover oxygen sensors similar to a box top program reward offered to technicians for collecting UPC codes. The NTK SSRP is designed for those who choose to reduce, re-use and recycle.

NGK is teaming up with the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance to launch this program to the aftermarket. Working with the Alliance members, NGK will seek to sign up as many professional installers across the country as possible.

"When NTK introduced the program to me, I was very impressed. Here is a global company creatively separating their brand and doing so by appealing to our industry’s need to conserve the environment," stated Dick Morgan, president and CEO, Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance.

"NGK worldwide has always practiced responsible environmental conservation. Our unique Sensor Recovery program allows us to advance this practice to include from the time we design the component to its disposal," said Michael Schwab, director of sales and marketing, NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A).
