AMI Accepting Applications For Four Scholarships

AMI-Logo-300x166The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) is accepting applications for the following four scholarships to be awarded this year: the Emil Stanley Merit Award, the BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship, the Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship and the Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket “High Octane” Scholarship.

Two scholarships help pay expenses for recipients to attend the 2015 International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE) July 22-25 in Detroit. These scholarships are the Emil Stanley Merit Award and the BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship.

The $1,000 Emil Stanley Merit Award is given annually to an individual who works in an Automotive Service Association (ASA) Collision Division member-business in good standing and who displays a desire to improve their business skills through management education. The 2015 award marks the 25th year in which AMI and ASA have honored Emil Stanley with this commemorative management-oriented scholarship.

The $1,000 BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship also is presented annually. AMI’s resource development effort, EXCEL, in conjunction with Babcox Media, established the scholarship, which is awarded to an ASA Collision Division member-business in good standing and who displays a desire to improve their business skills through management education.

NACE is sponsored by ASA and represents the one of only B2B events of its kind specifically designed for collision repair industry professionals from around the globe. NACE features a comprehensive educational conference offering AMI-approved management seminars, technical courses and industry sessions. The expo offers hundreds of diverse exhibiting companies displaying the latest equipment, products, services and technology available to today’s collision repair industry.

The remaining two annual scholarships help cover expenses for recipients to attend the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) July 22-25 in Detroit. These scholarships are the Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship and the Arrowhead Specialty Market “High Octane” Scholarship.

The $1,000 Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship was established by EXCEL, in conjunction with Babcox Media. It is awarded to an ASA Mechanical Division member-business in good standing and who displays a desire to improve their business skills through management education.

The $1,000 Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket “High Octane” Scholarship was established by EXCEL, in conjunction with Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket. It is awarded to an ASA Mechanical Division member-business in good standing and who displays a desire to improve their business skills through management education.

CARS, also sponsored by ASA, features a high-quality education lineup led by industry leaders, along with an exhibitor showcase of automotive service and repair-related equipment, products and services.

Along with NACE | CARS, a series of automotive repair industry events and co-located meetings will take place July 21-25. There will be a series of board and other private meetings. These include the CIC quarterly meeting, the CREF golf fundraiser, I-CAR add-on learning classes, I-CAR stage and demos, the CCIF meeting, the NABC meeting, the MERA meeting and the NACE | CARS Expo, along with numerous NACE and CARS business and technical sessions.
