Monroe Expands Max-Lift Line

Anyone who has been hit by a falling automotive trunk lid, hatch or hood can appreciate the value of a properly functioning lift support. What they might not realize is that when a vehicle's original units wear out, they can easily be replaced to help prevent unnecessary injuries or vehicle damage. Tenneco's Monroe Max-Lift line is helping vehicle parts distributors and service providers tap into the lift-support replacement opportunity through an expanded range of gas-charged supports.

Anyone who has been hit by a falling automotive trunk lid, hatch or hood can appreciate the value of a properly functioning lift support. What they might not realize is that when a vehicle’s original units wear out, they can easily be replaced to help prevent unnecessary injuries or vehicle damage. Tenneco’s Monroe Max-Lift line is helping vehicle parts distributors and service providers tap into the lift-support replacement opportunity through an expanded range of gas-charged supports. The Monroe Max-Lift line nearly doubled in size to more than 500 SKUs earlier this year.

Max-Lift supports function similar to a spring lift to assist in opening and supporting heavy trunk lids, hatches, hoods, windows and doors. In addition to direct replacement of worn original equipment units, Max-Lift supports are available in universal designs for use on pickup truck caps, large toolboxes and other applications not originally supported with a gas-charged unit.

“The Max-Lift line is a perfect complement to Monroe shock absorbers and struts,” said Bill Dennie, director of ride control channel management, North America aftermarket, Tenneco. “Selling replacement lift supports is similar to selling replacement ride control components – the service provider needs to identify the need and then make the service recommendation to the customer. There’s a great chance the vehicle owner isn’t even aware replacement lift supports are available.”

Monroe Max-Lift lift supports are engineered to provide fast, precise, OE-style fit and long life, the company states. Each unit features a high-pressure nitrogen gas charge, nitro-carburized rod for enhanced durability and a specially designed rod guide to reduce potential abrasion damage.
