A winner has been chosen in the 2012 Pronto Auto Parts/ACDelco “Dream Car Giveaway” promotion, which ran during the months of May, June and July. The promotion was designed to increase sales, create customer excitement, and reward customers for their loyalty over the summer.

Left to right: Dan Garrison, ACDelco Market Area Manager; Kerri Gulick, National Pronto Association, Grand Prize Winner Terry Burnah of Beard's 66; and Bill Maggs, president of National Pronto Association. The grand prize was a trip to the 2013 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., and up to $50,000 to spend on a dream car of his or her choice. Seventy-nine finalists names were drawn by Pronto ACDelco distributors across the country and Canada. All finalists and a warehouse sales representative were sent to Texas for a NASCAR “Team Texas” driving school and the grand prize drawing. Thousands of gift cards also were awarded during the promotion.

Rain cancelled the much-anticipated driving school; however, each guest was provided a voucher to return to Texas for the NASCAR 10-lap driving experience at Texas Motor Speedway. Customers instead were treated to Texas-style BBQ and had fun racing Indy-style go-karts up to 45 mph at the indoor track at Pole Position.  At the end of the night, three trophies were provided to the top three drivers.

The grand prize drawing was held on Saturday, Sept. 29. The winner was Terry Burnah of Beard’s 66 in Wichita, Kan. Beard’s 66 is a customer of Poorman Auto Supply, a longtime Pronto member.

According to Poorman Automotive, “Terry has been a loyal customer of Poorman Auto Supply for 20-plus years, and a true proponent of ACDelco.” Burnah was shaking with excitement as he called home to announce the good news to his family. He will be spending an entire week in January 2013 looking for his dream car at the Barrett-Jackson Auction.
