George McGarvey, owner of George’s Auto Repair in Westby, WI, is the grand prize winner of the Federated-ATP “TTech Sweepstakes.”  McGarvey, a customer of Federated member United Auto Supply of La Crosse, WI, received an ATP TTech machine, valued at almost $5,000.

Phil Moore, senior vice president, Federated Auto Parts; Steve Horn, vice president of sales, ATP; George McGarvey, owner, George's Auto Repair; Kevin Smaby, United Auto Supply; Bob Allen, district manager, ATP “We want to thank our manufacturing partner ATP for sponsoring this promotion,” said Phil Moore, senior vice president of Federated.  “We received great feedback from our customers about the contest and we congratulate George on not only winning the grand prize, but also taking advantage of the business building opportunities that ATP provides.”

The Federated-ATP “TTech Sweepstakes” was designed to tie in with ATP’s involvement in the Federated-sponsored Two Guys Garage television show that airs on SPEED.  The premise of the Two Guys Garage episode featuring ATP is when performing transmission fluid service, it is imperative that the service include a pan drop and transmission filter replacement to do the job right. The “TTech Sweepstakes” served as an opportunity to share this important message with Federated professional technician customers, providing them with the information and merchandising tools needed to effectively sell transmission service.

“The TTECH promotion was the perfect tie-in to the Federated Two Guys Garage segment featuring transmission service and the best way to get the job done right,” said Steve Horn, vice president of sales for ATP.  “We were delighted with the overall participation from the Federated membership and, by all measurements, the TTech program was highly successful.”

To enroll in the contest, a Federated customer had to purchase an ATP marketing kit. That kit provided a Federated Car Care Center with all the necessary tools to maximize sales on transmission service.  Additionally, ATP provided a $500 prize to United Auto Supply’s Kevin Smaby, who sold the kit to McGarvey.  McGarvey received his TTech machine, the exact one featured on the Two Guys Garage segment, on June 19 in La Crosse.

“While we all spend time trying to have the lowest price on transmission filters, ATP is out there talking about profitable solutions for installers,” said Dick Beirne, president of United Auto Supply. “By doing that and asking for the business, their category has grown nicely every year.”
