“We looked at a popular tool and wondered how we could enhance it for our customers. Our engineers came up with the CTGR8855,” says Rodger Isetts, product manager for Snap-on. “Our grinder already defines power and is designed to handle various metal applications. The addition of a safety switch with automatic shut-off is an improvement we know technicians value.”

Like its predecessor, the CTGR8855 features a powerful 18V MonsterLithium 4.0 Ah rechargeable battery. The anti-vibration handle and soft-start trigger provide comfort for hard-working hands, allowing techs to work longer. An electronic speed stabilizer keeps the grinder in control making it a reliable, precise workhorse. With a seven-position safety guard and automatic shut-off switch, the CTGR8855 is one of the safest grinders on the market, according to the company.

“We know improvements to make a tool safer are something our customers appreciate, and it’s important to all of us,” says Isetts.

With 8,000 rpm, this grinder easily handles tough jobs in the shop from metal fabrication to advanced auto body repair. The replaceable motor screen keeps debris out while the ultra-slim head and 270° rotating battery allows technicians to access hard-to-reach areas. The CTGR8855 uses 4-1/2” and 5” wheels for tackling various jobs.

The new Snap-on CTGR8855 18V Lithium Cordless Angle Grinder components include the tool, one battery, charger and tote bag. The tool body can also be purchased separately. Customers can learn more about CTGR8855 by contacting their participating Snap-on franchisee or other sales representative, visiting www.snapon.com or calling toll free 877-SNAPON-4 (877-762-7664).
