Tenneco Expanding Monroe Ride Control Coverage To Millions Of Additional Vehicles

Tenneco will accelerate its “Continuous Launch” product program in 2013 with a significant number of new Monroe shock absorber and strut SKUs as well as aggressive expansion of the Monroe Quick-Strut product line. The company also will expand its Quick-Strut production capacity for the 10th consecutive year.

The continuous coverage program enables Tenneco customers to access the latest Monroe part numbers on a quarterly basis rather than waiting until the end of the year. Tenneco will introduce hundreds of additional automotive shock and strut numbers in 2013 and dozens of new Monroe commercial vehicle and Rancho performance SKUs.

“Our goal is to help distributors and service providers address every ride control opportunity with a premium application-engineered Monroe or Rancho product,” said Bill Dennie, director of ride control channel management, North American aftermarket, Tenneco. “Our continuous coverage strategy complements the marketing campaigns and promotions that help drive new customers to Monroe ride control providers.”

The new coverage will include an expansion of the Monroe OESpectrum shock and strut offering for late-model Asian and European applications. OESpectrum units help deliver a new level of control for global passenger cars and light trucks while filtering out the noise, vibration and harshness commonly encountered on these vehicles.

The continued popularity of Monroe Quick-Strut assemblies – the premium, guaranteed assemblies that helped revolutionize strut replacement – has driven not only additional late-model application coverage but also Tenneco’s investment in a tenth dedicated assembly cell at its U.S.-based aftermarket ride control manufacturing complex.

“The Monroe Quick-Strut assembly has been a game-changer for the entire ride control category. Technicians demand it, consumers appreciate its performance and durability, and Tenneco stands behind every unit with a quality guarantee that helps ensure satisfied and loyal customers,” Dennie said.

To help technicians perform comprehensive, high-quality strut replacements on more vehicles, Tenneco will also introduce over 50 additional Monroe Strut-Mate mounting kits for popular domestic and foreign nameplate applications. Failure to replace strut mounts in conjunction with a new strut could cause unwanted noise, vibration, vehicle “pull” and potentially dangerous binding of the steering system. Each Monroe Strut-Mate mounting kit is engineered to complement the ride control characteristics of the corresponding Monroe strut. These kits include an OE-style mount, bearing, upper and lower spring isolators, and upper spring seat, as required by the vehicle.

As an additional service to distributors and service providers, Tenneco continually updates its popular ride control electronic catalog at www.monroe.com. Customers who cannot find a Monroe or Rancho part in a print catalog should check the www.monroe.com catalog for the latest coverage information.
