Watkins Glen International was no match for Joe Gibbs Racing and SPICER Chassis this past Sunday in New York. Kyle Busch in the No. 18 M&M’s Toyota held off teammate Tony Stewart in the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota to take the checkered flag at the Centurion Boats at the Glen NASCAR Sprint Cup race.

With his victory, Busch completed his road course dominance in 2008 and earned an incredible eighth win of the season. He has been deservedly crowned the new king of road courses, sweeping both Infineon and Watkins Glen in the Sprint Cup Series, and also winning a Nationwide Series race in Mexico City.

“Yet again, SPICER Chassis products have helped our race teams to fantastic finishes at Watkins Glen. With SPICER product’s low-friction technology and the options that SPICER provides, we are able to make the best decisions on race day to get the best results,” said David Holden, research and development engineer, Joe Gibbs Racing.

Busch clinched the top spot in the 10-race Chase to the Sprint Cup Championship with the win at Watkins Glen. He extended his points lead to 242 over second place’s Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and increased his win total to 16 for the season across NASCAR’s top three divisions.

Behind Busch’s eighth checkered flag of the season, Stewart finished in second, bringing him up two spots in the points standings to seventh. In addition, JGR’s Denny Hamlin also had a strong showing, bringing his No. 11 Fed Ex Toyota home in eighth place.

JGR began using SPICER Chassis products at the beginning of the 2007 racing season. Drivers like Busch rely on SPICER Chassis racing ball joints and tie rod ends that utilize the latest technology and offer lower friction and superior performance. The upper and lower ball joints are available in 1/2 inch short and 1/2 inch long specifications to provide flexibility from track to track.
