HOOKSETT – Three local auto repair shops have been hit by burglars apparently looking for inspection stickers.

"This is the first time I’ve had $24,000 in damage done for $50 worth of inspection stickers," said Tech Auto Services owner Shawn Serfass, who reported the break-in at his Route 3 shop to police yesterday morning.

Under the Hood Auto, also on Route 3, was burglarized Friday night. Longfellow’s Garage on Silver Avenue reported its burglary on Aug. 2.

Serfass said he discovered large tool boxes pried open. He had kept a book of inspection stickers inside them.
