Nearly 80 Techs from 43 Auto Repair Shops Gain New Skills at CABA Education Days

CABA spent nearly $50,000 to organize and present 2010 Education Days. Generous support from the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers (AASP) in the form of an education grant helped make the program possible and able to attract world-class technical instructors including Dan Marinucci, Craig Van Batenburg, Dave Scaler, Luis Ruiz, Dave Solomon and Vince Fischelli.

The Chesapeake Automotive Business Association (CABA) has reported that its 2010 CABA Education Days, which wrapped up April 10 at Montgomery College in Rockville, MD, offered education to nearly 80 automotive technicians in the region.

The Winter training season began Jan. 30 at the Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville, MD, and swung through Salisbury, MD, with a total of 15 class sessions over 10 weeks.

Seventy-six technicians from 43 different independent auto service companies attended at least one of the 15 sessions in the three classroom locations. Six among the 76 techs actually attended multiple sessions, some driving more than 100 miles to take advantage of the rare local presentations by these acclaimed instructors.

CABA has already begun collecting requests from technicians and shop owners for valuable and needed topics that should form the core of the 2011 Education Days program. Ideas can be submitted on the association’s website at www.caba.biz.
