David Murray Jr. of Oberlin, KS, and Ricky Alvarado of Delta, CO, run side-by-side at the 2008 Duel In The Desert at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Mark Moore, EQ’s national sales director, says, “We’re very excited to be the title sponsor for the Wild West Modified Tour and to increase our sponsorship of IMCA racing overall.  We feel IMCA offers the best grassroots racing in the U.S. and it’s an excellent way to show how our stock and performance heads can compete on the track. We’re looking forward to another exciting year.”

“EQ’s support is one of the primary reasons why this tour became so successful so quickly,” noted IMCA Vice President of Operations, Brett Root. “We are extremely pleased that EQ has extended its sponsorship of the series to a third season, and we look forward to a long and successful association with them.”

Alvarado is the two-time EQ Wild West Modified Tour champion and leads all drivers with 17 career series wins. EQ’s early 350 cylinder head (#CH350I) is approved as a direct replacement for the IMCA Northern and Southern Sport Mod Divisions and Hobby Stock. EQ’s high performance 23° cylinder head is approved for use in the EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Modified Tour.
