Strategic Move by Interstate Ensures Premium Distinction of its Batteries

Since Interstate began selling batteries in 1952, the company has differentiated itself in the marketplace as the service-driven provider of premium-quality automotive batteries. Now, Interstate has taken it a step further to continue this premium distinction.

Interstate Batteries launches a new, improved battery line on Feb. 1, 2006, with one of the longest warranties in the installer channel and a new look.

1. Longer warranty — In 1994, Interstate Batteries became the first in the professional-installer channel to offer an 18-month free-replacement warranty on automotive batteries. With the new product line, Interstate will again offer some of the best warranties available with free-replacement periods of 18, 24 and 30 months (good, better, best). This provides Interstate customers with the value they expect.

2. Different look — The Interstate-branded battery is the only one in North America with significant color recognition by the public. Interstate’s top-selling battery, the Mega-Tron II, will now have a new unique green top so that consumers and dealers can easily recognize the brand that stands for quality.

“Our new product line redefines Interstate Batteries service and product as the best value available today,” said Interstate Batteries President & CEO Carlos Sepulveda. “While many of our competitors are increasing pricing without adding value, we are increasing value to our market.”
