Tenneco Inc. is offering much-needed relief to consumers facing escalating fuel costs through a $20 “Fuel Stop” mail-in rebate available with qualifying purchases of Monroe Ceramics and Monroe Dynamics brake pads from July 1 through November 30, 2008.

“Monroe is committed to helping consumers better afford important automotive services in this time of rising fuel prices,” said Sheryl Bomia, North American programs manager, Tenneco Inc. “Our ‘Fuel Stop’ promotion is a great way to enjoy safe, confident, quiet braking while getting cash back to help offset the cost of filling your tank.”

The “Total Solution” for millions of passenger cars, vans, light trucks and sport utility vehicles, Monroe Ceramics and Monroe Dynamics brake pads feature application-specific original equipment-style friction formulations engineered to provide exceptional stopping performance, quiet operation and long life. Monroe brake pads come complete with everything needed for the repair, including noise elimination clips, hardware, and wire wear sensors (most applications). Each Monroe pad also features OE-style slots and chamfers or problem-solving aftermarket-engineered chamfers for excellent noise reduction.

To qualify for the $20 Monroe “Fuel Stop” rebate, consumers must purchase a set of Monroe Ceramics or Monroe Dynamics brake pads from any participating parts or service business between July 1 and November 30, 2008, and submit a dated sales receipt and completed redemption form to program headquarters. All submissions must be postmarked by December 30, 2008.

Monroe Ceramics brake pads feature genuine ceramic formulations that promote cooler, cleaner and quieter stops. Monroe Dynamics semi-metallic brake pads for most applications are manufactured through a precisely controlled molding process that reduces resin content for more powerful, consistent and long-lasting brake performance. OE manufacturers prefer “Positive Molding Technology” because it leads to outstanding stopping performance.

The Monroe brakes product line covers approximately 80 percent of all U.S. passenger vehicles and 89 percent of passenger vehicles five years old and newer.
