Visteon Sees Growing Emphasis on OE Quality in Automotive Underhood Service Category

A growing number of automotive replacement parts distributors, jobbers and underhood service providers are specifying original equipment (OE) quality components. Such components help deliver proper vehicle performance and strong customer loyalty.

Visteon has a strong OE-quality portfolio in underhood parts. As a leading supplier of OE climate control products, Visteon offers a broad range of replacement radiators, air conditioning parts and other components that deliver “drop-in” fit and OE-specified performance. Visteon leverages its OE testing capabilities to subject its replacement heat transfer products to rigorous testing, including heat rejection, pressure cycle/vibration, and other environmental and durability evaluations.

"There’s a tremendous opportunity for aftermarket shops to position themselves as the convenient, trusted source of OE-quality replacement technologies and skilled diagnostic and repair services for today’s vehicles," said Greg Gyllstrom, Visteon vice president and general manager of North American aftermarket operations. "Visteon is committed to helping them capture this competitive position through best-in-class products for all makes and models."

The growing sophistication of engine, starting/charging, climate control, ignition and other systems has helped vehicle dealerships, foreign-nameplate specialists and other competitors capture market share.

"The increased sophistication of late-model passenger vehicles is obvious to service professionals and long-time customers," said Gyllstrom. "By relying on OE-quality replacement parts from Visteon, established shops can protect and enhance customer relationships. These customer relationships are enhanced by eliminating potential quality comebacks associated with parts that weren’t engineered or built to the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications."
