Know a mom in desperate need of auto repairs? She could win up to $1,000 in free service from one of 12 area NAPA AutoCare Repair Centers during a "Project AutoCare" contest for Mother’s Day.
Twelve local NAPA AutoCare Repair Centers – including Sterling Car Care in Sterling Heights – will be accepting nominations through April 26 to surprise 12 area moms with a gift they truly need: auto repairs.
This program was designed to help moms ensure that their vehicles are dependable. Joe Hanson, a participating repair center member, said the economy has impacted customers’ ability to maintain their vehicles.
"With the economic climate in our area, we have seen customers unable to repair their vehicles to make them safe and roadworthy. We see moms who are working to raise their kids and put food on the table by working one, and sometimes two jobs, or maybe has no job at all," he said. "It hits a soft spot with all of our auto repair centers."
Therefore, the 12 participating locations got together to devise a plan to make a difference in the community. After agreeing that moms were more than deserving of the repairs, Project AutoCare was born.
"We are really hoping to make a difference this Mother’s Day," Hanson said.
Participating NAPA AutoCare Repair Centers and NAPA Parts stores will have nomination applications available. Forms will request information pertaining to the nominee’s vehicle issues as well as request a short paragraph explaining why the nominee is deserving of the assistance.
On May 3, each of the 12 participating NAPA AutoCare Repair Centers will announce one winner, and shortly thereafter, repairs on her vehicle will begin. In addition, Bill Taylor Florist of Eastpointe will present each winning mom with a bouquet of flowers.
Participating NAPA AutoCare Repair Centers include: Auto Lab in Clinton Township; Clovers Collision & Mechanical Repair in Eastpointe; Evola’s Auto Repair in Mount Clemens; Gordie’s Garage in Roseville; Jefferson Motor Service in Harrison Township; Ode Auto Repair & Tire in Warren; Protech Automotive in Clinton Township; Sterling Car Care in Sterling Heights; Sterling by the Bay in New Baltimore; Tri-Action Auto Repair in Chesterfield; V&W Motors Import in Roseville; and Warren Auto & Tire in Roseville.
