Toyota Tech Tip: ‘Check Brake System’ Displayed At Startup

An updated skid control ECU logic is now available to address this concern.

Some 2015 – 2017 model year Camry vehicles may exhibit a “Check Brake System” message displayed on the Multi-information Display (MD) in the combination meter/instrument cluster assembly at engine startup along with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) C1441. An updated skid control ECU logic is now available to address this concern.

NOTE: This bulletin does NOT prevent DTC C1441 from occurring.
