The Timken Co. recently announced the release of its new Tech Series Automotive and Heavy-Duty Aftermarket Training and Resource CD (version 1.4). Version 1.4 is the latest edition of its interactive training tool. An online version of the resource kit is also available.

The Tech Series interactive training CD was developed specifically for the needs of the automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket industry. The CD tool contains detailed information on Timken hub unit bearings, tapered roller bearings, seals, needle bearings and lubricants plus two new product sections – ball bearings and cylindrical bearings.

All the product sections contain learning opportunities on various subjects including bearing basics, troubleshooting, removal and installation, and damage analysis. In addition, the sections include a testing chapter in which users can apply their product knowledge, earn product certification patches and receive corresponding certificates of completion.

The Web version contains the same information as the CD tool and is also the source for the latest software updates. It can be found by visiting http://www.timken.com/techseries. Both formats continue Timken’s mission of going beyond bearings to provide technological leadership in all aspects of friction management and power transmission.
