Mike and Sherrie Buckridge, owners of Sun Automotive in Eugene, OR, are the 2007 CARQUEST Excellence Award winners. The CARQUEST Excellence Award seeks to recognize the top independent automobile service business in North America that, through the course of everyday service excellence, exemplifies the professionalism necessary to build public understanding and respect for people working in the auto service industry today.

Mike and Sherrie Buckridge, owners of Sun Automotive in Eugene, OR, are the 2007 CARQUEST Excellence Award winners. The CARQUEST Excellence Award seeks to recognize the top independent automobile service business in North America that, through the course of everyday service excellence, exemplifies the professionalism necessary to build public understanding and respect for people working in the auto service industry today.

Sun Automotive has two locations (Eugene and Springfield, OR). Each location is an ASE "Blue Seal of Excellence" facility and all are members of the TECH-NET Professional Auto Service program.

"I can’t say enough about CARQUEST and the resources they give an independent business owner like myself," Mike Buckridge, who is an original member of TECH-NET Professional Auto Service and is an excellence award finalist for the past six years said. "Our technicians are required to have 40 hours of training each year and CARQUEST helps us with CARQUEST Technical Institute and TECH-NET. Mike and Sherrie Buckridge are both graduates of the Automotive Management Institute and continually pursue education specific to the automotive industry. All Sun Automotive technicians are ASE certified with several being "Master Certified," meaning they are certified in all eight areas of the automobile. Several other technicians have received the coveted L1 advanced rating which only 13% of the nations 391,000 certified technicians have received. Sun Automotive also trains its service advisors on a systematic basis enabling them to advise their customers wisely about maintenance and safety issues.
