SKF will continue its Pole Position Program in 2007, providing technicians around the world access to the latest industry training and trends. Additionally, SKF will expand the on-line portion of its program with 24-hour on-line access to information and e-newsletter distribution.

The Pole Position Program provides automotive technicians with the most up-to-date technical information, training literature and product knowledge to help them maintain a profitable repair business. The program also provides technicians with insight into the industry’s future trends and technology, ultimately preparing them for future repair/maintenance scenarios.

“The SKF Pole Position Program continues to grow around the world, creating a global community of repair technicians,” said Per Jacobsson, director of marketing, SKF. “SKF values a technician who strives to maintain a profitable repair business through proper vehicle repair and maintenance. The Pole Position provides the information and data technicians need to maintain a successful and profitable business.”

SKF’s Pole Position Program offers the latest product information based on many authoritative and expert resources, including a close technical relationship with NASCAR’s Richard Childress Racing. SKF engineers assemble the latest information from their research efforts, both on and off the racetrack, to produce Pole Position Program training materials, including Pole Position Technical Manuals, Pole Position Self-Study Guides, periodic technical tips and newsletters. Additionally, each member receives exclusive access to the Pole Position On-line Community along with a periodic e-newsletter containing industry data and technical tips.

As a Pole Position Program member, technicians automatically receive an entry into a drawing to become an honorary pit crewmember for Richard Childress Racing’s No. 31, No. 29 or No. 07 Team for the final race of the 2006 season in Homestead-Miami. In 2006, Jeff Grothman of Portage, WI, won the Pole Position Grand Prize and served as Jeff Burton’s honorary pit crew member from the No. 31 pit box.

“Combining the Pole Position Program with our technical relationship with Richard Childress Racing allows us to provide the most up-to-date technical data, as well as reward technicians for performing proper vehicle maintenance procedures,” added Jacobsson. “Ultimately, the Pole Position Program continues to improve the practice and profitability of technicians around the world.”
