Premium synthetic lubricant manufacturer Royal Purple has added separate car and truck classes for its third annual Show It Off at SEMA contest. The truck portion of the contest will be hosted on the Royal Purple Inc. Facebook fan page, with entries accepted Aug. 1-8. The five finalists will be determined by Royal Purple and will have the opportunity to submit additional photos of their vehicles as well as a detailed spec list for the judges’ review. The winning truck will be selected by a panel of editors from several leading truck publications and will be revealed on the Royal Purple Inc. Facebook fan page on Aug. 26.

The Show It Off at SEMA car contest will also be hosted on the Royal Purple Inc. Facebook fan page, with entries accepted Aug. 15-22. Much like the truck class, the five car finalists selected by Royal Purple will be able to submit detailed spec lists and additional photos of their car for the judges’ review. The winning car will be chosen by a panel of judges consisting of both automotive media and last year’s contest winners: Todd Foust (1965 Ford Mustang) and Dennis Rostenbach (1970 Plymouth Road Runner). Royal Purple will announce the winning car Sept. 6 on the Royal Purple Inc. Facebook fan page.

“Royal Purple has an incredibly diverse customer base that includes enthusiasts of just about every type of vehicle imaginable,” said Royal Purple Communications Specialist Marlena Solomon. “By adding this new truck class, it enables thousands more enthusiasts to be a part of our most successful contest.”

In addition to the opportunity to display a vehicle at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Royal Purple will cover car registration fees, provide two badges for the show, Royal Purple wearables and host a dinner with each of the winners as guests of honor.
