Redline Detection, an industry leader in OEM-approved automotive diagnostic leak detection equipment, recently unveiled a three-pronged technical education platform called “Redline Technical Academy,” designed to educate technicians, recognize excellence in the field and advance the automotive industry through innovative technology. Additionally, the company announced it will donate $25,000 in Redline Detection tools and equipment to technical schools, colleges and high schools throughout 2014.

The Redline TECH Academy is the umbrella platform under which all Redline technical education initiatives will fall. At the helm of the initiative is Redline’s inaugural Technical Advisory Board, which is made up of seven influential industry members, all from different areas of expertise and all with a strong commitment to the future of technical education in the industry. This year’s board is made up of professionals at the top of their field, each working in a different segment of the industry, including aftermarket, OEM, mobile distribution, technical training, garage ownership and performance racing.

Redline Detection and its new Technical Advisory Board also introduced a new industry award called the Redline Rock Star Performance Award, which will recognize a rising technician for his or her commitment to the industry, their job and their family. The winner will receive cash and prizes valued at $2,500 from Redline Detection in appreciation of their hard work and leadership. The winning technician also will be featured in press and advertising to promote their business. Additionally, the nominating individual will receive a prize valued at $250.

Nominations for the 2014 Redline Rock Star Performance Award will be accepted through Dec. 31 on Redline’s website at http://redlinetechacademy.com/nominate. The winner will be named in January.

“The talented young technicians of today will be the industry leaders of tomorrow. Technology is racing forward at an ever-faster pace. It’s imperative we provide technicians with every resource necessary to ensure their success,” said Alex Parker, executive vice president of Redline Detection. “The Redline TECH Academy is designed to provide technicians with educational and technical resources, to help young technicians grow in their technical fluency and to help established technicians adopt new technologies so they can continue to excel in the field.”

To support ongoing technical education, Redline has launched a website designed to provide technicians with free, easily accessible video content, in multiple languages, to provide continual training on today’s most innovative tools. The TECH Academy also will feature live demonstrations at trade shows, education at automotive technical schools and an abundance of resources for technicians.

“Redline equipment has always been the technicians’ favorite, and we see that as a tremendous honor,” added Parker. “We are dedicated to supporting technicians, both established professionals and young people just beginning their careers. It is a great honor to be able to introduce so many programs today designed to support, recognize and advance technicians in their field.”
