Raybestos Partners With Schwartz Performance To Restore Classic ’69 Mustang Fastback

RaybestosSchwartz-300x241Raybestos has joined forces once again with Schwartz Performance to restore an American icon muscle car: a 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback.

“Raybestos and Mustang are the perfect match of history, leadership and innovation. Working with the first-class team at Schwartz Performance, I don’t think there could be any better car for us to restore than this true American classic,” said Bruce Tartaglione, senior vice president of global sales and marketing for Brake Parts Inc (BPI). “There has been a lot of speculation about which car we would choose, so we are very pleased to make this announcement.”

Raybestos Brakes and Schwartz Performance teamed up last year, restoring the Raybestos 1971 Chevrolet Camaro RS “G-Machine.” After appearing in Las Vegas and touring North America, the one-of-a-kind Raybestos ‘71 Camaro RS reached its final destination, the home of Brian Williams of Lynchburg, Virginia, the grand prize winner of the Raybestos Camaro Sweepstakes.

As part of the Raybestos 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback restoration, Schwartz Performance will install its famous “G-Machine” custom-fabricated chassis as well as an off-the-shelf performance disc brake upgrade package, using Raybestos components and Element3 brake pads with Enhanced Hybrid Technology (EHT).

According to BPI, Raybestos Element3 brake pads offer the best attributes of both ceramic and semi-metallic friction materials in a single hybrid compound. The pads are engineered to ensure optimal performance, improve pad wear and durability, and deliver unsurpassed stopping power and vehicle control, even under the most aggressive braking conditions, the company notes.
