With his dramatic victory at Talladega Super Speedway last weekend, Matt Kenseth earned Roush Fenway Racing and Raybestos Brakes their fourth Sprint Cup win of the 2012 season and their fourth overall win at Talladega.
Thanks to some expert maneuvering and skilled braking, Kenseth escaped and drove away from a massive last-lap pileup in Sunday’s Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500. The win marks Kenseth’s 23rd Sprint Cup Series win in the No. 17 Roush Fenway Ford.
“When the pile-up happened in turn four, those Raybestos brakes were there for Matt,” said veteran Roush Fenway crew chief and current No. 17 pit leader Jimmy Fennig. “He maintained control and avoided that final-lap crash.”
The Raybestos Superspeedway Racing brake package, used by NASCAR teams like Roush Fenway Racing, combines ample stopping power with a considerable weight savings advantage on tracks like Talladega’s 2.66-Mile Tri-Oval. The Raybestos Racing caliper package is one of the strongest and lightest in all of NASCAR. The Raybestos Racing two-piece rotor is engineered to withstand high-heat torture, and they also deliver the effective lightweight operation required for qualifying and superspeedway runs.
The lessons learned on tracks like Talladega are continually translated into product improvements across the entire Raybestos product line, which includes racing, street performance, police patrol/pursuit vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.
