Raybestos Brakes Help Kenseth Earn Lucky Seven At The Magic Mile

Matt Kenseth, the top seed in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, finished .533 seconds ahead of teammate and points runner-up, Kyle Busch, at the Sylvania 300 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Both Kenseth and Busch raced under the stopping power of Raybestos brakes.

Kenseth is off to a perfect start in the Chase, having won the first two races of the 10-race Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. And just like last week at Chicagoland, Kyle Busch finished second behind Kenseth. The two teammates are the first set of teammates to finish first and second in back-to-back Chase races.

The victory is Kenseth’s seventh of the season, and his first at New Hampshire. The driver of the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota becomes the second driver to win in his 500th start in NASCAR’s top series. “The King,” Richard Petty first did it in 1970.

“Matt led a race-high 106 laps,” said Jason Ratcliff, Crew Chief of Kenseth’s No. 20 Dollar General Toyota. “When he passed Clint Boyer and took the lead, we all knew either he or Kyle was going to take it home. I can’t wait to see what they’ll do next Sunday at Dover.”

The consecutive 1-2 finishes to open the Chase give Kenseth a 14-point advantage over Busch in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship standings.

The Raybestos Racing brake package, used by NASCAR teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, combines ample stopping power with a considerable weight savings advantage on short tracks like the New Hampshire Motor Speedway’s 1.06-mile Super Speedway.

According to the company, Raybestos racing brake pads are the ultimate high-friction, high-torque racing pads. The famous Raybestos “ST” series racing compounds provide superior stopping power for championship-caliber race teams.

Raybestos Racing calipers make up the strongest and lightest caliper package currently available in all of NASCAR. They have an optimized structure caliper architecture design and a mono-block aluminum alloy construction. They also include integral crossover cooling and progressively sized titanium pistons, said the company.

Raybestos Racing two-piece rotors are engineered to withstand the high-heat torture of short tracks and road courses; delivering the effective lightweight operation required for qualifying and superspeedway runs. Winning features include an S-groove slot design, a racing-specific vane configuration and optimized metallurgy.

For reliable performance, all Joe Gibbs Sprint Cup racecars are also equipped with Raybestos Racing ball joints and tie rods. The premium-quality chassis parts help fine-tune each car’s suspension setup for optimal grip and handling.

The lessons learned on tracks like New Hampshire are continually translated into product improvements across the entire Raybestos product line, which includes racing, street performance, police patrol/pursuit vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.
